Ahead of APHA 2023, the American Public Health Association is making a call for short film submissions. Independent films created by members of the community as well as films created by students from across the country. Creatives and aspiring filmmakers are encouraged to submit animations, narratives, public service announcements, educational videos or documentaries that respond to APHA 2023’s theme for this year’s Annual Meeting & Expo: “Creating the Healthiest Nation: Overcoming Social & Ethical Challenges.” Although, filmmakers may submit any short film related to matters of public health. As an Occupational Medicine Physician, Dr. Eli J. Hurowitz is thrilled to know that APHA will be showcasing these creative and educational short film demonstrations. He is hopeful that this event will bring attention to more public health concerns, including current ongoing environmental health matters. Dr. Hurowitz looks forward to possibly participating in this event as a reviewer of short film submissions.
