This week in Dr. Eli J. Hurowitz’s Occupational Medicine & Workplace Wellness Series, the OEM Expert discusses why you should consider implementing a ‘Meditation Monday’ practice in your workplace:
In all workplaces, stressful situations arise. How that stress is managed can make all the difference in whether you’ll wind up having a productive day or losing the day to trying situations. Practicing meditation, either as a group or individually (or both!) is a fantastic way for all members of the team to stay calm and come back on their A-Game with fresh ideas.
Meditation in the workplace is an excellent and simple way to relieve stress. It’s also a fantastic opportunity for all team members to recharge and revitalize as they prepare for the day ahead. In addition to reducing stress levels, meditation also improves overall mental wellbeing, strengthens focus, boosts memory function and enhances clarity of thought. The best part is, a meditation session can be completed as a group or individually. While Dr. Eli J. Hurowitz encourages group guided meditation sessions in order to equip your team members with the resources and necessary techniques, he also recommends encouraging self-guided meditation among the team on the day to day.
